June 16, 2015February 8, 2023Social Networking Sites – Enough of NegativityIt is the age of Internet, where everyone including me and you live in two worlds together – the real one and the virtual one over the Internet!! With so many social networking sites running, you have got so used to living in a virtual world that no day is spent without posting updates, liking, commenting, sharing and interacting with your fellow social networks’ users. Isn’t it?But have you ever noticed that your popular social networking sites are becoming a hub of negativity day by day??Developed with a vision of connecting people and bringing the world closer, the sites like Facebook and Twitter have now become a hub of negativity. I can’t say if you have noticed this or not but if you’ll take a few minutes to observe, you will find that pessimist thoughts and negativity are flooding all over your social networks.Stats show that 70% people believe in posting, liking and sharing depressive posts. Social networks are getting used as the easiest tool for expressing anger and jealousy, crying over the traumas of life, talking of dying hopes, panting about loneliness, shouting out complaints, cursing people who left you broken and throwing out all the negativity that’s inside. Were these sites built for this?Of course, not…If you read the mission statement of your most popular social network, Facebook, it says:Founded in 2004, Facebook’s mission is to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected. People use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, to discover what’s going on in the world, and to share and express what matters to them.I guess this mission statement sums up what all social networks were initially built for!Just like your real world, your virtual world is also your responsibility. Do you even realize what a blessing it is to be still alive? How blessed you are to be among the ones who are capable of writing, reading and being online? In a world where people are still dying of hunger, what are you doing? Crying over stupid heart breaks?? Really??? Is this all that you are left with?Grow up guys! Choose happiness. Spread smiles. Give hopes. Be sensible. Let go of the things that hurt. Instead of promoting negativity through your likes and shares, encourage positivity and productivity. Rise and Shine! It’s you and me who make the world what it is like. Every little effort MATTERS… All the social networking sites have had enough of negativity. It is time for a change!Today, let us all vow to contribute our very best in making both of our worlds, a nice place to be in.Stay tuned, keep reading, keep sharing and let smiles shine…:) Lifestyle encourage good content on social networksencourage positivityFacebookFacebook mission statementFacebook's mission statementhow to make good use of social networkshow to make your social networks bettersocial networking sitessocial networkssocial networks - a hub of negativitythe right way to use Facebook
